Eating in Bergen aan Zee: small village, everything on the boulevard

Bergen aan Zee has only a few hundred residents, so the choice is limited and concentrated. Almost everything sits on or just behind the C.F. Zeiler Boulevard, with the beach pavilions on the sand in front of it. Here you do not choose between quarters, only between places.

With a few hundred residents, Bergen aan Zee is the smallest coastal village on this stretch of the Noord-Holland coast. That makes eating here simple: you walk the length of the boulevard and see what appeals.

Is it open all year here?

Not all of it. Some of the pavilions close in winter, and that is precisely the thing their own websites still get wrong now and then. For that, look at our page with what is open right now; it is recalculated every night.

What if it is full?

Bergen (the village, four kilometres inland) has far more choice. That is ten minutes by car or a quarter of an hour by bike through the Noordhollands Duinreservaat, the North Holland dune reserve, and on a busy summer evening it is the smartest move.

How is this order decided?

The order below is not for sale. We sort on the Google rating, then on the number of reviews, then on the distance to the beach access. Whoever is at the top is there because guests put them there.
