Privacy and cookies
This guide measures how it is used, and nothing else. There is no form, no account and no newsletter, so there is also nothing in which you would leave your name or address.

Who this is
Duinkust is an independent tourist guide to the North Holland dune coast, published by Tielo Digital. Questions about this statement or about your data go to hallo@duinkust.nl.
What we measure
We use PostHog to see how this guide is used. This records which page you view, what you click on, how far down a page you read, and whether you click through to the website or phone number of a business owner. PostHog also stores technical characteristics: the type of device, the screen size, the browser, the language setting, and approximately the region you come from.
We also record a view of how visitors move through the page, including scrolling and clicking. Anything that would be typed into an input field is masked and does not appear in the view. This guide does not have a single input field, in any case.
We do this to see what information people are looking for and which pages fall short, not to recognize you as a person.
What happens with cookies, and without
If you give consent, PostHog places a cookie on your device. That way we count you as the same visitor when you come back tomorrow.
If you decline, or make no choice, we keep measuring without cookies. Nothing is then placed on your device. In that case PostHog counts you using a code that is recalculated every day and that can no longer be traced back to you the next day.
Declining does not mean nothing is measured. It means we do not recognize you across multiple days. We keep counting visitor numbers and clicks, because that is allowed anonymously.
We always store the choice itself, in the storage of your browser. Without that we could not respect your choice, so that is strictly necessary and does not fall under consent. You can change your choice at the bottom of every page.
Who processes the data
PostHog processes this data for us and stores it within the European Union. We do not resell anything, and we do not link the figures to advertising networks.
The site runs on Netlify, and the photos come from Cloudflare. Those parties necessarily see the IP address with which you request the page, just as every website you visit sees that. We do not store that ourselves.
How long we keep it
We keep visitor numbers for as long as they are useful for improving the guide. Session recordings expire automatically after one month.
What you can do
You can withdraw your consent at any time via the link at the bottom of every page. If you want to know what data has been stored about you, or want us to delete it, email hallo@duinkust.nl. Because we do not register you as a person, we will then need something by which your visit can be found.
If you disagree with how we do this, you can file a complaint with your national data protection authority.
