Eating in Groet: a ribbon along the Heereweg

Groet is a ribbon village along the Heereweg, the road between Schoorl and Camperduin. Nearly all the places to eat sit on that road, with the Schoorlse Duinen directly to the west. It is quieter than Schoorl and you are just as close to the dune area.

Groet lies just inland from the coast, two kilometres north of Schoorl, and it is the village people drive through on their way to Camperduin. That is a shame for Groet and useful for anyone who does stop: it is noticeably quieter here than at the Klimduin, the climbing dune on the edge of Schoorl.

What is the difference with Schoorl?

Two kilometres and a good deal less bustle. The dune area starts at Groet just as it does at Schoorl, but the day trippers gather at the Klimduin. If you want to sit somewhere quiet after a walk, Groet is the better choice.

Can I walk here from the dunes?

Yes. The Schoorlse Duinen border the village directly on the west side, so you walk or cycle straight into the woods and back again.

How is this order decided?

The order below is not for sale. We sort on the Google rating, then on the number of reviews, then on the distance to the beach access. Whoever is at the top is there because guests put them there.
