Eating in Petten: a small choice and a big view

Petten has few places to eat, and to be honest that is the heart of the village: it is not a night out, it is somewhere you come for the sea defence, the broad beach and the quiet. Anyone who wants more choice drives to Callantsoog or Schoorl.

Petten sits on the Noord-Holland coast between Callantsoog and Schoorl. Let us be honest: you do not come to Petten to eat out. You come for the Hondsbossche Zeewering, the sea defence that closes the gap where the row of dunes stops, for the Palendorp on the beach, 160 posts set in the shape of ten houses and a church, and for a coast far emptier than further south.

So where are they then?

Most of it sits on or close to the sea defence, looking out over the beach. That is exactly why you would eat here: the view does the work.

And if I want more choice?

Callantsoog lies ten kilometres to the north, Schoorl and Groet roughly the same distance to the south. Both have considerably more on offer.

How is this order decided?

The order below is not for sale. We sort on the Google rating, then on the number of reviews, then on the distance to the beach access. Whoever is at the top is there because guests put them there.
