Sleeping in Schoorl: hotel, campsite or a holiday house
Schoorl has hotels along the Heereweg in the village, campsites on the edge of the wood and holiday houses spread across the area. The village is not on the sea: getting to the beach is still a drive, or a good long ride by bike through the dunes.
This is the thing that surprises people: Schoorl is not on the sea. The village lies on the inland side of the dunes, on the Noord-Holland coast north of Amsterdam, and you reach the beach through Schoorl aan Zee (on foot and by bike only) or by car, the long way round by way of Hargen or Camperduin.
Where am I best placed?
If you want to walk to your dinner and your drink in the evening, you are well placed along the Heereweg or by the Klimduin, the climbing dune. If you are mainly here to walk and to cycle, the edge of the wood makes more sense: you step straight into the dune area from there.
What does a holiday house cost here?
That differs a great deal by season and by type. One thing does stand out in the search figures: people looking for a holiday house in Schoorl are clearly further along in their decision than people searching for the village. You notice that in the availability in spring as well.
How is this order decided?
The order below is not for sale. We sort on the Google rating, then on the number of reviews, then on the distance to the beach access. Whoever is at the top is there because guests put them there.
